# Chiropractic Care

## Enhancing Health with Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a safe and effective form of complementary and alternative medicine, which addresses the nervous system, organs, muscles and tendons, and the skeletal system, to reduce pain, increase mobility, and to have a gentle, yet therapeutic effect on the body.

Treatments are aimed at improving range of motion, mobility, and strength, while also relieving pain, and supporting the prevention of injuries, illness, and relapses.

## Appointment Information

Our health assessments take a whole-person approach by considering physical, mental, and emotional health. Functional testing identifies root causes for customized treatment protocols and personalized wellness plans.

### Initial Assessment

Involves a health intake and physical examination to determine a diagnosis. A therapeutic treatment plan is then discussed and initiated based on the treatment goals, and the patient diagnosis.

Initial appointments involve taking a history and completing a physical examination to determine a diagnosis. X-rays and other testing are ordered as needed. A treatment plan is then recommended and is tailored to the patient’s specific needs.

### Follow-Up Assessments

Involve providing a specific treatment, as part of the therapeutic plan, and maybe booked with varying frequency, such as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, as is needed for the specific patient care plan.

### Billing

Chiropractic care is not covered by OHIP free health care, however, it is covered by most private extended health insurance plans. It’s always best to check with your plan provider for your coverage allowance.

An itemized service receipt is always issued for chiropractic services rendered for private extended health insurance plans and personal record-keeping purposes. Fees are due for payment at the end of each appointment.
